Recruited by then-Captain (SG) Gahrmann from North Carolina, Lieutenant Commander Porter gathered six Honor fans together to commission HMS Condor (DD-1233) on September 4th, 2012. He slowly built the chapter over two years, eventually turning it over to Captain (JG) Johnston, who upgraded it to HMS Claymore (CA-51).
By 2016, the ship had gotten big enough to become a battlecruiser, HMS Claymore (BC-618), which kept the same name just to confuse others/keep things simple. It only took a year to get too big for one ship, so we divided into two new chapters – HMS Broadsword (CA-47) and HMS Claymore (CA-51) – as well as a separate Marine chapter in Tucson (Assault Shuttle Claymore-One) and a new starting chapter (pinnace) in Sierra Vista (Pinnace Claymore-One).
Now Captain (JG) Davies leads our valiant crew in her never-ending fight against boredom, continuing to serve Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth III, against any and all enemies, foreign and domestic.
We meet once every month in each chapter, per the individual Skipper’s discretion. Usually each meeting starts out with a little business, and then on to an activity, although sometimes it is combined with a larger event like a convention. Check our Facebook page or the Calendar for the place and time. It is important that members be present for our mission to succeed!
